If you are over 65 years of age or disabled, there is a chance you can lower your property taxes with the Homestead Exemption if you meet the following requirements:
Are over the age of 65, totally disabled under the age of 65 or are 59 to 64 years of age and the surviving spouse of a Homestead recipient.
The applicant and spouse's total annual income is not more than $20,800.The applicant must own and reside in their home or manufactured home as of January 1st in the year they are applying for the Homestead Exemption.
